By road
Leave the M6 at Penrith (Junction 40) and follow the A66 towards Workington. The quickest way is over WhinlatterPass by taking the left turn off the A66 at Braithwaite just after Keswick onto the B5292 and follow the road through High Lorton to Low Lorton. Follow the signs to Thackthwaite over the re-built River Cocker bridge and Damson Ghyll is about half a mile past Thackthwaite on the left opposite Latterhead Farmhouse.

By train
The West Coast mainline railway station at Penrith is about 30 miles away and has bus connections to Cockermouth (see below). For rail timetables, visit National Rail Enquiries or call 08457 48 49 50.
By bus
There is an hourly service from Penrith (Rail connection) to Cockermouth. Take the X4 or X5 Stagecoach service from Penrith to Cockermouth where we can pick you up. For more info, call Cumbria Traveline on 0870 608 2 608.
